HTML. Java. SQL. Python. C#. C++. There are so many different programming languages. So where do I begin? What would I be interested in? I guess I'll just have to dive right in and find out.
I took a couple of free courses on Codecademy and Coursera. No lie, I almost threw the keyboard across the room because I missed a comma or a bracket somewhere in the code. AHHH! But in the end, it was always rewarding when I figured out the solution.
So after several different trials, I narrowed it all down to Swift. I was always curious about the world of app development. Udemy offered a course called "iOS 13 & Swift 5 - The Complete iOS App Development Bootcamp" by Dr. Angela Yu. It was on sale for $15, originally $125, so I figured, why not? Since I paid for it, I can hold myself accountable as well.
I had only a couple weeks to learn it all. Why? I received a job offer to work from home full-time as a Clinical Pharmacist performing medication reviews. I felt like I would have no time.
It was not easy. I barely slept. I don't know why I set these high expectations. Long story short, I've learned the basics, viewed plenty of YouTube and web tutorials, and it was just enough to create a couple simple apps like Magic 8-ball, To-Do list, and story/Quizzler type apps.
What I really wanted was to create a fun game app. So much information is out there about Flappy games, I decided it would be a good beginner's step to create one of my own. My inspiration for the design? Well, as you'll see in the next post, I was just very hungry?
